Mom, Daisy and Zeke all returned Monday evening from their Indy road trip. Everyone spent Tuesday recuperating from the 10-hour drive. Thankfully, Jeremy was able to join us for the return trip home. I’m sure he really enjoyed the trip:)
Zeke slept almost the entire drive there and home. Daisy was much better behaved in the car than she has ever been–Zeke probably helped in that… Zeke has now seen Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana! The backseat of the car was a bit tight with both dogs and some boxes and bags.
Once we arrived to Indy, Zeke went to a lunch date with Mom, Aunt Nicole and Aunt Bethany. He slept through most of it. Daisy enjoyed a long walk with Grandma Susan and managed to find a package of hamburger buns, which led to a vet trip to refill her tummy medicine prescription. Daisy received a chick toy for Easter from her grandparents, and Zeke received a set of chewing keys. Zeke also got to meet his Great Grandma Dorothy, Cousins Maggie and Wyatt and some other cousins from Indiana and North Carolina.
Zeke meets Great Grandma Dorothy
Zeke loves to snuggle with Great Grandma in the big chair with the heater on…
Daisy says, “Don’t forget about me!”
Zeke also got an unexpected Easter present from Grandpa Jim. Empty, cleaned plastic peanut butter jars are traditionally used at the Johnson house as cat food containers. When Grandpa brought one into the house after being used to store cat food, Zeke got ahold of it and played for hours. We had to bring it home because it is his favorite new toy. We also learned that he loves ice cubes! He’s even been conditioned to run into the kitchen when he hears the freezer door open!
Only played with under supervision, of course!
