Mutts Strut 2008
Team Daisy and Zeke participated in WARL’s 2008 Mutts Strut today. Everyone had a great time, especially Zeke. (Daisy had to stay home because she gets too excited when around other dogs, but we walked in her honor too!) Here’s a photo of our team and our mascot:
Zeke walked very nicely, as if he’s had several rounds of obedience courses! He also enjoyed playing with the other dogs and simply taking in all the action…
Zeke: Mommy, why is this strange dog sniffing me?
Zeke: I’m strutting my stuff…
Zeke: Hey! Why I am not in this photo?!
Zeke: Man, I look cute! I’m so glad WARL gave us these stellar scarves!
Zeke: I can smell the chicken treats in your goody bag, Mom. Focus on sitting… Focus on sitting…
Zeke: Just me and the guys…
Zeke: Some of us are too small for the baby pools. We needed a Slip ‘n Slide!
Zeke: That’s how I roll…
Zeke: Meet “Chopstix.” She’s my new friend. She was rescued from the same VA puppy mill as me!
Zeke: “Chopstix” was a breeding dog at the puppy mill, so I had to teach her how to play–she had spent the first two years of her life in a cage! Thank goodness WARL helped her find a forever home too!
Zeke: I love my Mommy.
Zeke: Katie is my friend. She sprays water on me, and I lap it up.
Zeke: And Mom thought I’d be tired when we got home from Mutts Strut and lunch at Dupont Circle! I’ll show her… Watch me run through the house!
Zeke: [Yawns.] On second thought… maybe I’ll… just… lay down for a few… ZZZZZZZ..
Thank you to everyone on Team Daisy & Zeke for walking and supporting the animals! Thanks also to everyone who donated on our team’s Web site! WARL greatly appreciates your help! More dogs and cats like Daisy and Zeke will find forever homes because of your support.
