A Long-Overdue Update!

So, it’s been a really long time since the dog blog was updated, but there’s been a very good reason! Mom got married! Daisy, Zeke, Mom, and Daddy Jeremy have been adjusting to living together… And it’s going really well!

Currently, we’re working on training the dogs to stay out of the bay window and off furniture in the living room. Plus, we’re working on a few new party tricks. Stay tuned.

Finally, we have moles in our backyard behind our shed. Mom had to cut back a large bush and remove a lot of debris left by the previous owner to see the holes. We had wondered why Zeke was so fascinated with the area. So, Zeke is mole hunting about twice a day. We’re letting him dig for now because moles are hard to get rid of and we’re planning to re-landscape that part of the yard anyway. Here are some photos and a video. Enjoy!

So, here’s the latest news from Daisy and Zeke…

Sadly, Miss Daisy lost her match in Mutt Madness, but kudos to her for making the top 64 dog group:)
Thankfully, Miss Daisy and Mr. Zeke are recovering just fine from the rat poison incident. Their bloodwork was normal, and they will be taking Vitamin K supplements for two weeks to ensure any remaining poison moves out of their systems without affecting their blood’s ability to coagulate.
Daisy and Zeke are also doing quite well with Jeremy in the new house. He’s come over twice to let them out before Mom gets home from work, and they are very good. Yay!

Our New Yard and Other Ramblings!

Daisy and Zeke love their new yard. They got to sit outside for a whole hour today since the weather was so nice. Tomorrow is supposed to be even sunnier and warmer, so they are very excited! Here are some photos of them enjoying the new green…

Also, today Zeke let me clip his nails with hardly any fuss at all. I’d never tried it before since Daisy throws such a fit about it. Well, at least I can save some money by trimming Zeke’s nails at home. The drama queen will still need to go to the groomer’s. Sigh. Daisy, how we love you.

Good News and New Photos

Well friends, it’s past time for a new post. Things have been very busy at our house with planning for a wedding and our recent move. The good news to report is that Zeke’s mouthing and nipping at guests problem has completely disappeared since he’s in a bigger house! He and Jeremy are doing great! This truly is an answer to prayer!

The cutest thing was watching Zeke sit quietly next to the Verizon guy and watch while he installed our phone and Internet. He hasn’t been this calm since he was our “poky little puppy!’ Along with increased space to explore, perhaps more exercise is helping since the dogs can spend more time in the yard, and they can also run up and down the basement stairs. The fence running issue has also disappeared completely with the back yard being fenced. Both dogs are loving the fenced back yard! Daisy likes to sit on the deck, and Zeke likes to run up and down the hill. And the best news of all is that we only pass two houses that don’t have dogs to get to the park to walk!

Let it snow! Right–who can actually “let” it snow… Here are photos and video of Daisy and Zeke during their afternoon playtime in the yard. You’ll notice there’s much more snow now, and it’s still coming down!

A Snow Storm to End All D.C. Snow Storms!

The snow’s coming down heavy in the D.C. Metro area today, and there’s no hint of stopping until later this evening. Daisy and Zeke braved the snow earlier today–when we only had about a foot! Here are a few photos and a video–more to come!

The snow is coming in fast and heavy in the D.C. metro area. Daisy won’t go outside, and Zeke is ignoring my calls to come inside. It’s going to be an interesting day. More photos will come when the ground is covered!
